---ON HOLD--- Chizu was rescued from a TNR colony near the Kamo River in Kyoto, along with her two brothers, Husky and Mochi-Mochi. She is an adorable and very friendly little girl, who loves having fun and being around her favourite humans. Although Chizu is an independent cat, she is definitely not against lots of cuddles with the right person! She is always on the lookout for a comfy place to relax, and is a magnet for soft blankets. This girl loves her treats! Chizu is currently staying at the JCN shelter in Kyoto, but can be available for foster care or adoption in other parts of Japan. Name : Buddy Age : 2 years old Color : Red tabby Eyes : Gold Personality : Timid but loving, be careful not to rush him Favorite food : Dried fish treats Favorite place : In a basket or next to his mommy
Buddy
Age : 2 years old

His story :

Buddy was just a kitten when he was rescued, alongside his mother, Ginger, from a fishing port on Awaji Island in the summer of 2015. A JCN supporter was on holiday, when she spotted four orange cats, one of whom had a fishing hook embedded in his neck. Although many attempts were made to rescue all four cats, sadly, two of them disappeared before they could be caught, including the one with the fish hook. Both Buddy and Ginger were malnourished and ill, but have since made a complete recovery. Buddy can be quite timid with new people, but he is also very loving once you get to know him. His favourite food is dried fish treats! Buddy is still somewhat of a mommy's boy, and loves snuggling next to Ginger in a basket or sunbathing in the outdoor enclosure. Both Buddy and Ginger are very bonded to each other, so the ideal family would be willing to accept both kitties. Buddy is currently staying at the JCN shelter in Kyoto, but can be available for foster care or adoption in other parts of Japan. BIRTHDATE: April/May 2015 INTAKE DATE: 23 August 2015

Both Ginger and Buddy were malnourished and ill, but have since made a complete recovery. Ginger is an incredibly shy cat, and prefers a 'hands-off' approach from humans. She is closely bonded with her son, and can often be found hanging out next to him. She enjoys watching the world go by from the highest possible vantage point. Ginger does love her Ciao Churu chicken treats, though! Ginger needs a very special family willing to give her lots of time and space and continue to work with her on socialization. Ginger is currently staying at the JCN shelter in Kyoto, but can be available for foster care or adoption in other parts of Japan. BIRTHDATE: 2013? INTAKE DATE: 23 August 2015

---ON HOLD--- Grace was rescued by JCN volunteers from the Sugimoto feral cat colony in Kyoto, a site where some 23 cats and kittens struggled to survive in abandoned and delapitated buildings set to soon be demolished. Several members of the community were vehemently opposed to the presence of the local cats, and, sadly, Grace and the other kitties faced abuse and cruelty on a daily basis. Desperately hungry, Grace ran over for treats as soon as our volunteers arrived on the scene. She can be understandably shy with new people, but once she warms up to you, she will show herself to be a very friendly little girl. Grace has the softest fur, and loves to be stroked on the head and under the chin, however, she does not particularly enjoy being picked up. Grace is currently staying at the JCN shelter in Kyoto and can be available for foster care or adoption in other parts of Japan. BIRTHDATE: February 2017 INTAKE DATE: 13 December 2017

Shi-chan
Age : 8 years old

Her story :

Shi-chan was rescued from a restricted evacuated area in Fukushima, along with her three kittens, all of whom have since been adopted. She was originally brought back to the shelter after having been attacked by a predator. Shi-chan is a very sweet and affectionate kitty who loves to cuddle. She craves attention and makes sure she is always right next to someone in hopes that they will offer her a pet or, better yet, a snuggle! Shi-chan has been diagnosed with FIV, which means that she has a weakened immune system. Although Shi-chan is doing very well, careful attention must be paid to good eating habits and dental issues to ensure that she stays healthy for a long time. FIV is not transmissible to humans, and is primarily transferred from cat to cat via bite wounds acquired during cat fights. Despite her diagnosis, this sweet little girl deserves a chance at the life in a home that she has been waiting to get for so long. Shi-chan is currently staying at the JCN shelter in Kyoto, but can be available for foster care or adoption in other parts of Japan.
